The issue is 2K gave us a"pink bead" Kobe that isn't remotely usable in online play or against the computer on any issue above all celebrity for that matter and you know they are going 2K MT to launch a Kobe card that's godly in packs to gain off of Kobes death. I don't think anyone is against it. If 2K had published a free opal Kobe, I do not believe many would have whined. The issue is that the people who feel that they had been entitled to whatever bc Kobe died. People were demanding free cards and cards from 2K. 2K eventually gives a free cardthat people are still complaining. They didn't want the card to remember Kobe, they just wanted a wonderful card for their Myteam.
I get that side of things and it's certainly shitty that we were just focused on MyTeam. But at precisely the same time I've noticed a ton of people saying that it would ruin NBA 2K cause everyone would have him and it's only a stupid thing to do. That sounds weird to me just like each group with him is more like a party IMO. Still feels good to see that PD take the fangs if he gets sexy tho. I can not see how anybody could make the argument that everyone having him would ruin NBA 2K. He does not get the best animations and that he isn't super tall because of his or her position. Kobe has always had high tier cards in myteam and I can not remember when they were even the best at his position. TMac & MJ cards are always the greater SG bc of the animations and TMacs height. And taller"PGs" such as Magic or Lebron were always superior to use. It would ruin it if Kobe had been like Giannis yes.
They've done this for all the big name players so far so can it be different? How long must pass for it to no longer be considered scummy? Because if they release packs of Kobe it is going to be shortly after he murdered people will not like it. While being the year he passed. I would say it'll be 2K22 when folks would be fine with it.Imo any packable Kobe this year is a cash grab, any further cards should be earned through gameplay and available to all. Alternatively you can purchase a Kobe card together with profits going to his Foundation.
The game style is a money grab though. That's where my confusion is largely coming to buy mt coins from. I believe both sides are somewhat arguable because as somebody who doesn't have time for prolonged grinds, I'd rather be able to purchase Kobe using MT.There's a huge difference between a regular cash grab and profiting over a person's premature death. Idk guy I simply don't see where you draw the line. So should they make it Kobe, it will be the exact same exact thing, hundreds fall for each other release. It is up to the players to determine how much they want to drop.
